Plane Breaks were taken in earlier episodes before Comedy Bang! Bang! moved to the new Earwolf Studios, they were ostensibly to drown out the noise of passing planes. The Plane Break theme was composed of the opening instrumental of Jet's "Cold Hard Bitch," accompanied vocally by Scott and guests. A similar segment on the show is the Motorcycle theme which was used whenever a motorcycle passed by also to drown out the noise. In episode 135: Scavenge and the Wisemen Cake Boss, Scott, Erinn Hayes, and Dan Telfer sing baking a plain cake, to the tune of taking a plane break.

A proto-Plane Break is taken in 94: Dip Didda Dip Dow!

A variant of Plane Breaks for helicopters are taken on the podcast Threedom, with its own accompanying theme.

During the seemingly endless COVID-19 pandemic (a.k.a. “The Demi”), a plane break occurred in episode #722 Cowdy Partner, with guest Andy “Adam Sandler” Samberg.
