Mrs. Potts is a character played by Betsy Sodaro. She is the former teapot from Disney's Beauty and the Beast who, once the curse was lifted, became a regular old woman.
Her son, Chip, died of smallpox as soon as he became a real boy. Chip's father was a Mr. Coffee but was just an appliance -- he did NOT become human once the curse was lifted.
