MC Sugar Butt is a character played by Carl Tart. He is a rapper.
Sugar Butt communicates almost entirely in rhyme. His flow and cadence are reminiscent of old-school hip-hop artists from the late 70's and early 80's. His cousin is Pants the Rapper.
MCSB's past is not entirely clear. He was involved in an accident in the early 80's that put him into a coma - however, his memory of the accident seems to change each time he recounts it. In early appearances he attributed the coma to a bus crash. More recently, he has stated that the accident occurred when a woman fell on him during a televangelist event he was attending.
His timeline of the coma also varies. At first, he explained that he was in the coma for several decades, which caused him to miss out on the evolution of the hip-hop genre (This would explain his rap style being stuck in the 80's). On at least one occasion, he has contradicted this, clarifying to Scott that he was only in the coma for two weeks. Not a moment later, he again changed his mind and said the coma was only eight days ("...four days - both ways."). Scott believes his poor memory, inconsistencies, poor math skills and bad spelling are a result of permanent brain damage.
Whenever addressing Scott, he typically refers to him using the last initial "D" ("Scotty D."), much to Scott's confusion. Admittedly, this is because it is easy for him to rhyme the "e" sound. While "Scotty D" is his go-to, he's been known to use other surnames or initials to suit the rhyming scheme for any upcoming line (e.g. "Scotty-Wow", "Scotty-Pie", "Scotty-Bae", "Scotty-Doo"). Scott later admitted that his middle name is "David" so there is some truth to the moniker "Scotty D".
MCSB confirmed in 599 that he is bisexual. He has shown a mild romantic interest in Scott. Scott once went streaking through MCSB's neighborhood, the latter admitting he made no effort to look away or stop it from happening. He has tried to charm Scott into going on a date with him (despite the fact that his romantic date idea was to set Scott up on a "To Catch a Predator" sting operation).
While he does his best to always rap, his rhymes are sometimes questionable at best. He'll often panic and use inane sounds, onomatopoeia, or partial rhymes to complete the line. At other times, he will intentionally go without rhyming (e.g. when giving short, direct answers that do not require two lines of dialogue).
Sugar Butt has taken a variety of jobs in recent years - but they all seem to involve pyramid schemes. In 2019, he was selling Herbalife. As of 2022, he operated a grave-cleaning business (which also somehow included a friend-recruiting model).
His constant rhyming has earned him the admiration of founding member of the Sugar Hill Gang / aspiring rapper Cal Solomon.
He celebrates Gritsmas.
