Backstory[edit | edit source]
JW is a vigilante crime fighter who hails from Cumberbatch County, Florida in the town of St. Benedict. He listens to his Bearcat scanner until he hears a "crime go" then he will get in his fan boat and travel to the scene. He is currently investigating the theft of a hammer, possibly his own. He is also an avid cook, having taken nearly a decade of cooking classes. He claims sandwiches with cut-off crusts are his best dish. JW also has caught the eye of a debutante that is also the town's reporter name Minnie Milts. Stillwater has never done drugs, except oxycontin for which he has prescriptions in three different names. He may have the power of flight(?), and/or lazerbeams that shoot from his eyes. Stillwater was recently on a crime quest to California where someone was stealing California's water, and that someone was.... HIS FATHER! The very same father whom he thought had died while J.W. was just a little j.w. His fathers last words to him were, "Take it sleezy, catch you on the flip flop... Now go on outta here and don't watch me die, and if you hear the door open and close its just my soul."
Thought Dexter Morgan was Dextromethorphan - a cough medicine.
Cameron Esposito, whom he calls Caramel, is his ward.
In episode 404, JW appears in a post credits sequence recruiting The Time Keeper to something called the "Order of the Keepers." No further details are yet available, but stay tuned for more on this developing continuity!
Origin[edit | edit source]
The character originated in the Best of 2013 Pt. 4 at approximately 1:07:35 when a siren is audible in the studio. Paul hears the "sireen" and asks if "someone done a crime" in the JW Stillwater voice. He includes references to his Bearcat scanner and hearing a "crime go." Scott Aukerman and Paul both agree they would like to hear more from this character, and Paul implies that he may come back. A fan created comic describes the imagined backstory of JW Stillwater. Episode two of the comic tells the story of the day J.W.'s daddy died and can be found here.
